Beef is one of the expensive everyday ingredient for me. I often prepare beef dishes on Sunday when we gather together during lunch or dinner.
Beef Pochero
What to Prepare:
6 cups water
350g beef round, cut into serving portions
1 medium (150g) potatoes, cut into chunks
3 medium ripe saba bananas, peeled and sliced diagonally
1/3 cup cooked garbanzos
1 chorizo de bilbao, sliced
1 can (227g) DEL MONTE Tomato Sauce
1/2 block (150g) Tofu, fried and cut into 6 pcs
3 stalks (200 g) pechay, sliced
Start Cooking:
Boil beef in water until tender.
Add onion, potatoes, saba, garbanzos, 1 tsp iodized salt (or 1 tbsp rock salt) and 1/8 tsp pepper.
Simmer until potatoes are tender.
Add chorizo and Del Monte Tomato Sauce.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add pechay and tofu.
Simmer once.
Did you know?
Grate a quarter of a small onion and add it and a dash of sugar and salt to the water in which you boil frozen or canned vegetables to improve the flavor or add a dash of MSG, garlic powder, pepper and onion flakes or powder to the salted boiling water before adding the vegetables for a richer flavor.
