Ginataang Hiha (Shelled Clams in Coconut Milk)

Ginataang Hiha


What to Prepare:

300 g green papaya, cut into 1/2 inch slices
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 kg shrimps, shelled
1/4 kg halaan (clams), boiled and shelled
1 pouch tomato sauce
3 cups thick coconut milk
1 cup malunggay leaves


Start Cooking:

  1. Boil papaya in water until tender. Drain. Set aside.
  2. Saute garlic, onion, shrimps and halaan.  Add tomato sauce and coconut milk. 
  3. Season with 1 tsp iodized salt.
  4. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add papaya and malunggay leaves.
  6. Simmer once.
