Pork Binagoongan Sinangag

We Filipinos will never have a complete meal without a steaming cooked rice in our dinner table. We can have different kinds of dishes but not without a cooked rice. Often, we have leftovers that we can use for breakfast and we call it the famous "sinangag" A breakfast meal with a twist.

Pork Binagoongan Sinangag:

Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil.

Add 1 tsp chopped garlic and cook until brown.

Add 1/2 sliced onion and cook until tender.

Chop 1 whole tomato, add into the oil and cook until tender.

Add 1/2 kilo lean pork.

Mash 2 Knorr Pork Cubes and stir briskly into the oil to infuse flavor.

Adjust the heat to maintain a pleasant sizzle.

Proceed to add 3 tbsp sweet bagoong and 2 tsp sugar.

Cook until pork is tender and mixture has carmelized.

Add 6 cups cooked rice and mix well until there are no lumps.

Remove from fire.

Put rice mix on a platter and serve with thinly sliced egg omelet and shredded green mango on top.

You can also try fresh kamias for variety or instead of egg omelet, the egg can be fried sunny side-up for a classic tapsilog.

Did you know?

In pan frying and sauteing, always get your pan hot first before adding oil or butter so food won't stick to the pan.
