We often use pork spareribs for barbecue or "Nilaga". Today, let's steam it! You can also use stainless steamer or electric steamer instead of bamboo steamer.
Steamed Pork Spareribs
What to Prepare:
500 gms pork spareribs trimmed and cut into 3 1/4 length
1 tbsp rice wine
1 tsp iodized salt
2 tsp refined sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
4 cloves chopped garlic
2 tbsp black beans, washed
2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 red bell pepper
1/2 green bell pepper
Start Cooking:
Place ribs in a shallow dish.
Add rice wine, salt, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, black beans and cornstarch.
Mix well.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Pre-heat bamboo steamer in boiling water.
Place marinated ribs on a heat-proof plate and put inside the bamboo steamer.
Cover and steam for 25 minutes or until ribs are tender.
Garnish with bell pepper.
Did you know?
Steam potatoes whenever possible to conserve nutrients. If you have to boil them, add 1 tsp of vinegar or lemon juice to the water to make potatoes snowy white.
